   I have primary global responsibility for all intellectual property matters for 2 business segments and their various platforms within the company.My responsibilities include:• Managing diverse, worldwide patent and trademark portfolios for Food Equipment and Construction business segments, collectively representing about $4.5 Billion in revenue.• Counseling and educating business unit personnel regarding all aspects of local and global patent and trademark portfolio decisions, including foreign filing decisions, annuity payment decisions, etc.• Meeting and conferring with outside counsel, business unit managers and engineering managers to discuss patent and trademark strategy, right to use, trade secret protection and licensing issues.• Meeting and conferring with all levels of upper management, including c-suite level executives, to develop and implement over-arching IP strategies to meet unique needs for each business unit as well as the over-all needs of the business segments.• Providing support for, and managing all intellectual property aspects of, acquisitions and divestitures.• Drafting and negotiating confidentiality, joint development and licensing agreements relating to new products, patent licenses and consulting agreements.• Rendering invalidity and infringement opinions• Developing and implementing diverse policies and strategies to best promote intellectual property creation and protection on both regional and global levels, with particular focus on U.S, Chinese, Australian and European regions.• Managing and supervising cross-functional teams of attorneys, paralegals, controllers, VP/GMs and engineering managers to create and implement enterprise-wide intellectual property mapping process• Proactively managing global offensive and defensive litigation and litigation strategies from inception to completion.• Proactively supervising and managing domestic and foreign patent prosecution.
