As the Acting Assistant Administrator for Research and Development, I direct and manage the Office of Research and Development (ORD). I have direct responsibility to the Administrator for the planning, programming, policy implementation, control, and direction of the technical and administrative aspects of ORD. The incumbent in this role requires a high level of technical expertise and executive and management ability and is responsible for the direction and management of the organizational entities engaged in accomplishing the functional responsibilities of ORD to efficiently achieve program goals and objectives. ORD is the scientific research arm of the Agency. Its leading-edge research informs Agency decisions and supports the emerging needs of Agency stakeholders, including the Agency\'s state, Tribal, and community partners. ORD provides the data, tools, and information that form the best available science the Agency relies on to fulfill its mission to protect the environment and safeguard public health.

I am a broadly trained molecular biologist with expertise in public health research, toxicology, and risk assessment. I have more than 20 years of experience in research, environmental science, and science translation.
