ABOUT MAUREEN OCALLAGHAN

I am a researcher and PHD student at the University of Lincoln, with experience in designing and delivering education and training interventions in various settings. I am also the Founder of Beyond Money Education and Training CIC, an organisation that aims to help business owners to combine making a profit with acting in ways that help other people and the planet. My mission is to change the way people do business, by providing materials that help business leaders do just that. I work at the interface of psychology, business, and education, and I collaborate with academics, business advisers, and commercial trainers and coaches. I conduct wide-ranging desk research, engage with the eco-system that supports entrepreneurs, and apply a participatory approach to design and test interventions. My work explores the themes of building stability, creating a sense of connection, achievement, and business transformation. My work is not only the product of my academic research, it also has its roots in 30 years of working for charities and managing projects where I got to see first-hand how much providing targeted help where it is needed can transform individuals, communities, and the wider society. My character strengths are justice, courage, and a love of learning, and they have taken me to where I am today; creating materials and sharing knowledge with business owners from all kinds of backgrounds to help them, our society, and our planet thrive.
