About Maureen Graves

I have created a website — DisabilityVoters.com – with a related Facebook page and Twitter account @disabvoters [https://twitter.com/disabvoters]. This is a pro-Democratic website which contains information on the presidential race and on key down-ballot races, most extensively US Senate contests, for which I am trying to mobilize donations and volunteers.I have put together this information because so far there does not seem to be a “disability vote.” People with disabilities and members of their families tend to vote like their families of origin (like most other people). Disability organizations are typically nonpartisan, and often distribute information that comes mainly from candidate questionnaires. So far as I can tell, there are no disability PACS and no “report cards.”Trump’s blatant insults to people with disabilities provide an opportunity to draw people’s attention to less obvious but even more damaging adverse policies supported by most Republicans. Of course, we also need to press Democrats to keep their commitments to people with disabilities (and others).I am asking several things:1. Please circulate this information among people who would be interested, like it on Facebook, follow it on Twitter, etc. I want this to surface when people are looking for information about Trump and disabilities, as it is far broader than what comes up now. I have no direct access to undecided voters in key states; getting the word out broadly seems the best approach.2. If you are interested in working on disability electoral organizing long-term, or have feedback on this site, please get in touch with me – m••••••@maureengraves.com3. Donate to or volunteer in Senate races. Priority candidates are Deborah Ross in North Carolina, Katie McGinty in Pennsylvania, and Catherine Cortez Masto in Nevada.4. Volunteers are needed in battleground states and for remote work elsewhere. There are links on the website.
