ABOUT MAUREEN GORSUCH

I am a Kinesiologist and Massage Therapist licensed in Hawaii, Alaska and Missouri, also Nationally certified through MBLEX. After graduating from The Hawaiian Islands School of Body Therapies in Kailua-Kona, HI, I went to work and study with Applied Kinesiology Diplomate, Dr Karl Hynes D.C. for 4 years. Dr. Hynes helped me recover from intense and chronic neck pain which I experienced after fracturing many of my facial bones in a motorcycle accident. I had experienced neck pain for seven years and in three sessions with Dr. Hynes, my pain was completely gone. His work so profoundly changed my life that when he offered me a a job and to teach me how to integrate applied kinesiology into my work, I jumped at the chance. This work became and still is my passion! Much of my focus has been on injury recovery, pre and post operative care and helping people to deeply relax. A highlight of my career was working with the Kansas City Chiefs starting with Joe Montana who I was able to help recover from a hamstring injury which had kept him off the field for several months. After one session he was able to play the next game. We worked together for 2 years and he and his wife, Jennifer\'s referrals helped me launch my career in Kansas City. In 2016 I fulfilled a long time dream of working as the LMT at the remote luxury lodge, Kantishna Roadhouse in Denali Park, Alaska. It was an amazing season of working with an inspiring team, while helping guests to deeply relax, and enjoy the beauty of Nature. Since that time I have been fortunate to provide care for patients at several clinics including Arctic Chiropractic. During a typical first visit, I ask people to share their medical history, current issues and which movements increase or decrease pain. I may use Muscle Testing to determine how well muscles are functioning. There are several therapeutic options available to bring forth a change, such as Golgi tendon stimulation, deep tissue massage, passive and active stretching, acupressure, cranial points, and neurolymphatic or Chapman Reflex massage. I can also perform relaxation massage, meridian balancing, guided meditation, hot stone massage. I am a certified “Touch for Health” instructor and am available for workshops and speaking engagements. I am so grateful to share this effective and satisfying work with people and to continue to feel inspired by the results it provides.
