ABOUT MAUREEN DASCHUK

Maureen joined BC Hydro in September 2009. Prior to joining BC Hydro, Maureen spent 15 years at working in strategy and operations roles both as a consultant and as an employee. Her experience spans multiple industries including electrical utilities, telecommunications, financial services, food services and life sciences. Since joining BC Hydro, Maureen has held several roles and helped the organization develop new capabilities around strategic human resource planning and optimizing the delivery of repeatable work programs. Maureen was the Executive Vice-President of Integrated Planning and is a member of the Executive team. Maureen\'s portfolio included energy planning, asset management for dams, generation, transmission and distribution, engineering and interconnections. Her team of approximately 1300 employees plays an integral role in planning a safe, efficient and reliable power system that meets the needs of our customers. Maureen sits on many BC Hydro committees and is the executive sponsor of the Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Committee, and Women’s Network.Maureen led the development of the Integrated Resource Plan which outlines how BC Hydro will meet customers needs 20 years into the future. She led the development and implementation of the 2024 competitive call for clean power. Her accountabilities included ensuring BC Hydro\'s compliance with Mandatory Reliability Standards and Critical Infrastructure Protection. Her team created BC Hydro\'s $36 Billion capital plan and maintenance programs. Overseeing large capital projects as well as repeatable capital programs, Maureen acted as the Initiator for growth and sustaining investments. Maureen has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. Her capabilities include strategic planning, operations management, team leadership, performance improvement, and coaching. An experienced communicator, Maureen is a trained spokesperson and has experience presenting to the community, board members and front line employees.
