As a Mechatronics and Robotics (M&R) Technician at Amazon, I work at the cutting edge of automation to ensure uptime, reliability, and safety of highly complex robotic systems in a fast-paced fulfillment environment. My core responsibilities include:• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair robotic drive units, electromechanical systems, and conveyor equipment• ⁠Apply advanced knowledge of mechatronics, PLCs, sensors, and industrial networking to solve technical issues and improve system performance Lead root cause analysis (RCA) of robotic.system faults and failures, and implement robust corrective actions.• Use data from SCADA systems, metrics dashboards, and PLC logs to monitor system health and predict potential failures.• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on robotics equipment and support system upgrades, retrofits, and installations.• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Amazon Robotics, Controls Engineering, and Process Engineering.• Mentor junior technicians and support upskilling in troubleshooting, safety procedures, and robotics fundamentals.• Use precision tools, diagnostic software, and calibration techniques to maintain peak performance of automated equipment.• Maintain compliance with safety standards, Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), and all local and federal regulations Ensure maximum equipment availability to support 24/7 operations in a high-throughput distribution environment.My role sits at the intersection of robotics, engineering, and operations-driving innovation, reducing downtime, and keeping Amazon\'s supply chain moving seamlessly.
