ABOUT MATTHEW STEIN

I\'m a New York based editor and colorist specializing in branded content, commercials, and documentaries. Fueled by my passion for storytelling through images, I take innovative ideas and turn them into dynamic videos that inspire, engage, and entertain. While I am well versed in modern editing tools (Premiere, Da Vinci, After Effects, FCPX…yes, even AVID) my technical acumen is always in service of the story. Whether I am cutting a doc or a scroll-stopping social cut I combine over 10 years of technical experience with a story-first approach to post-production. I have collaborated with production companies such as Film With Integrity, Splash Worldwide, Prosper Entertainment and Yellowbrick Learn and have cut spots for theSkimm, Complex, Rolling Stone, New York State, IndieWire, Reebok, Teen Vogue, Ripple, Marriott, FIT, NYU and Parsons School of Design. As a Production Director and Editor at Yellowbrick, I edited hundreds of videos from online courses to short-form content for organic social channels in collaboration with leading universities and brands. Additionally, I oversaw the production pipeline from image capture to final video export while developing best practices and guidelines to ensure seamless workflow and future-proofing of assets. I believe that a quality, creative video starts with collaboration and I love the personal connection that comes with every project.
