ABOUT MATT WOODS

I’m a senior product design leader with 15+ years of experience shaping complex digital products across FinTech, SaaS, growth, eCommerce, government, and enterprise platforms. I specialise in turning complexity into experiences that feel clearer, more intuitive, and more commercially effective — whether that means redesigning critical journeys, improving product coherence, shaping AI-enabled workflows, or helping teams raise design quality across a platform. My work spans consumer and specialist products, 0-to-1 ventures and large-scale transformations, multi-market systems and smaller high-ownership environments. I’m strongest where product design needs to bring structure to ambiguity: aligning user needs, business goals, delivery constraints, and product behaviour into something people can actually understand and trust. Currently, I’m working within Deutsche Bank’s Anti-Financial Crime & Compliance function, shaping safe, explainable AI/ML workflows for investigative tooling. Alongside that, I’ve led design across major banking and wealth programmes including Royal Bank of Canada, BNY Mellon Pershing, Aviva, The Pensions Regulator, and St. James’s Place — experience that has strengthened my ability to work in demanding environments without narrowing the kind of product challenges I can solve.
