ABOUT MATTS CARLSSON

Matts Carlsson (MSc, MBA, Lic. Eng, PhD) President of Gothenburg Management Institute. Former professor of Industrial Management and Work Organization, member of the Faculty Senate and Director of the Department unit of Applied Industrial Management at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. In the late 1980s he was a research fellow on the International Motor Vehicle Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT, conducting research that led to the development of ‘lean management’ concepts. He has also acted as visiting professor at Manchester Business School and as research director of several EU programs e.g.\"Quality implementation and qualification need analysis\".He has been working as senior consultant with numerous of multinational companies as well as with the public sector. The consulting activity has primarily focused on the development of organisations, leaders and employees and management groups.The research work has been focused on different aspects in the areas of management and leadership e.g. integration of functions, change management and implementation of management concepts such as Lean and Agile Management and Trusted-based and Transformational leadership. The research have been presented in several conferences, reviewed and published i.e. in EJEE, IJQRM, IJPR, International Journal on World Class Design for Manufacture, Journal on Engineering and Technology Management, Journal of Quality and Reliability Engineering International, Managing Changes in Operations, Quality Progress, R&D Management, Strategic Direction, Technology Strategies, TQM Magazine and as research articles in books from Chapman & Hall, Elsevier, Penshaw Press and Springler-Verlag. The research has resulted in several articles, more than speeches and workshops and has been mentioned in business media over times (including The Economist, ABC News, Business Week, BBC News, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Financial Times, Herald Tribune, der Spiegel, China Auto News, Handelsblatt and domestic media such as Sveriges Television, TV4, Sveriges Radio, Dagens Industri, Affärsvärlden, Ny Teknik, Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Göteborgs Posten, Expressen, Aftonbladet). Co-writer in the Swedish national encyclopedia. He is listed in Marquis Who\'s Who in the World and Dictionary of international biography, is among the top 1 percent most downloaded research authors.
