About Matt Seager
How do you innovate in an industry resistant to change? How do you design more sustainable buildings without adding more labor cost to projects? How do you integrate evolving and diverse perspectives in design practice? These are the challenges that drive my passion for architecture and design.I’m a practicing architect in Seattle seeking ways to bring architecture into the 21st century and situating designers to address tomorrow’s problems. At the core is a deep love for the built environment and design of impactful spaces that inspire. I look for buildings that engage imagination, celebrate people, honor history, embrace the future, and drive innovation. To do this, the practice needs to change. We have a duty to establish and exemplify the value design thinking brings to our clients. That’s my focus. I strive to integrate data, strategize new tools and establish efficient integrated workflows to deliver informed creative solutions to client needs. Over 10 years working on healthcare, science and tech, commercial, and high-rise buildings give me a diverse and practical experience solving complex problems.Outside of architecture, I carry a love for history and pursuing knowledge bases in computer science and software engineering. I seek understanding of how space and objects are experienced physiologically and sharing ideas about philosophy, neuroscience, and psychology. I enjoy playing soccer, hockey, volleyball and as many instruments as I can get my hands on. I love a good challenge.Reach out if you have ideas to explore or are looking to apply some design thinking!
