About Matt Glenn
I am a sound designer with design experience for theater, film, themed entertainment, and other large-scale installations. I am the co-owner of Ears Up Sound Design, a design collective which specializes in creating original audio content for unique listening environments such as theme parks, museums, theatrical productions, and immersive film experiences. We designed and built the Ears Up studio space in Glendale, CA to be a flexible laboratory for prototyping these sound experiences in their unconventional, customized formats. Ears Up Sound Design is the collective mind of designer-composers Mark Caspary and Matt Glenn. Based in Los Angeles, Matt and Mark have designed on over 100 projects around the world.Ears Up specializes in telling stories through the language of sound. We create custom audio content using any combination of original music, bespoke sound effects, foley and field recordings, sonic atmospheres, voiceovers, and countless other elements. Our collaborative workflow evolved from our work in ensemble-based theater. In this model, we coordinate continuously, from conceptualization to opening day, with all disciplines to develop a cohesive design. This constant dialog yields a thoroughly integrated experience that transports guests into the world of the production.From intimate theatrical performances to expansive theme parks, all projects benefit from customized, high-quality sound design. We believe that the best design works seamlessly with other elements to create a unique, multi-sensory experience that guests will never forget.
