ABOUT MATT GARNETT

I am a Technical Designer with 4+ years industry experience in Tech Design and Game Design roles, with a focus on cross-discipline collaboration and implementation work. A true generalist at heart, I am adept at multitasking and moving from feature to feature or between teams quickly and effectively, and have experience working on everything from blockbuster titles to small indie projects, and just about everything in-between.I\'m currently working on Gears of War: E-Day at The Coalition Studio, where I\'ve owned and contributed to a wide range of features across multiple teams, collaborating closely with teams across design, art, and engineering to ship a high-fidelity, performant, and stable game that meets and exceeds players\' expectations.Versatile and experienced with a variety of tools, my main individual strengths are in-engine implementation work, as well as spreadsheets, documentation and other design skills. As a teammate I focus on proactive communication, delivering reliably, and doing whatever I can to support everyone in doing their best work. Previously while working at Unity, I filled a full generalist Game Designer role, designing, prototyping, and implementing core gameplay features, progression, economy, and monetization systems for a wide range of projects, often owning features from pitching and concepting phases through to full scale production.
