About Matt Nichols

I am a project manager and consultant who has worked in customer-facing and project-based roles since 2013. I am fluent in project management methodologies and frameworks from agile/iterative (scrum master, product owner) to hybrid (Half Double) to waterfall/predictive (PMP). I also bring a wealth of practical experience, having led or played a key role on more than 30 software projects in more than a dozen countries on five continents. From 2019 to 2024, I lived as an ex-pat in Denmark and worked with clients throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America. I enjoy sharing what I have learned to help junior colleagues, whether in a formal management role or through informal mentoring. I have also been heavily involved in growing the professional services organizations at four successful firms: a government contracting small business, an independent software vendor, a management consultancy, and now at SAP. In the future, I aim to continue my career progression and aspire to roles such as leading the IT project management office (PMO) for a mid-size organization or joining a boutique agency to provide human-centric technology solutions at a local scale. I am also interested in joining a non-profit board where my skills could add value. Outside of work, my primary passion is the sport of cycling. On evenings and weekends, you will find me training, competing, serving as co-director of a race in Montana, or acting as an official with USA Cycling.
