About Matthew Miner

After two great years at Duke University\'s Fuqua School of Business (20••••09), I emerged with a passion to help companies do great business.and in student loan debt!In 2009 I joined John Deere. During the day, for the next four years, I helped manufacture equipment, create strategy, and grow Deere’s world-class dealer channel.Nights and weekends, I worked with my wife Charity to wipe out our debt and build the plan for our financial future.We made the budget, created the debt payoff-plan, and executed our investment strategy. Within three years we wiped out all our debt and saw our net-worth grow by Wow, we thought. This stuff works! To celebrate, we took the kids to Disneyland.Our money process in place, we focused on optimizing our lifestyle. In 2013 I joined Quality Equipment as General Sales Manager and we moved to Raleigh, which is a place we love, near the people we love.Over the next five years, we built wealth by saving a high percentage of our income. In 2019 we killed the mortgage on our home - woot!By 2018, I was ready to leverage my love for personal finance and serving others in my daily work, and so I joined PLC Wealth Management, working with Josh Self and Mike Perkins.I help clients with their money questions – “How do I get started investing?” “How can I eliminate my student debt?” “I’m getting divorced, which is awful. How do I cope with the money part, too?” “We’re growing our family. What should we think about?” “How can I get the taxing authorities out of my wallet – even just a little bit?”Charity and I still live in Raleigh with our three amazing children. I love spending time with my family, writing, running, hunting, and doing projects around the house.
