As CEO of WholeWorks, I lead both the professional training and consulting sides of our business. Leading the Sustainability Transformation, our newest online professional certificate program, features a simulation that gives participant teams from around the world a virtual practice field for leading change. For more information see On the consulting side, I’ve worked with numerous organizations across industries to develop dynamic systems models that highlight levers for improving long-term business performance.For over two decades, I have been helping leaders build their capability to create positive impact. WholeWorks clients over the years have included leading companies such as Nike, Dow Corning, Wendy’s, GlaxoSmithKline, and Starwood. I am also a lecturer at the University of Vermont Grossman School of Business, teaching a course on systems thinking in their Sustainable Innovation MBA program.My work takes a systems-oriented view of business, while also drawing on the stakeholder-oriented principles of sustainability. These are an ideal match for many of the strategic challenges of today’s turbulent marketplaces, providing a useful framework for creative thinking about new products, processes, and business models.

This intensive 10-week program uses a Learn-Practice-Apply model of learning, combining on-demand microcontent with a realistic virtual team simulation, and an applied workplace project. By improving their preparedness and agility, leaders and their organizations can respond faster and more effectively to market changes and opportunities, and build sustainable competitive advantage. Our scalable simulation platform provides client-specific “practice fields” that accurately reflect a company’s business dynamics and challenges, including plausible scenarios for future developments. This allows our clients to experiment with strategies and execution in an offline environment, much as a sports team prepares for a game by anticipating what its opponents might do.Previously we have provided large-scale multi-year programs to Nike, Wendy’s, Dow Corning, Starwood, and other companies across a broad range of industries, and twice been awarded the Excellence in Practice Citation by the American Society for Training and Development (now ATD).See for more information.
