ABOUT MATT STORK

I am a senior research scientist with established interdisciplinary and mixed-methods research expertise. I have a passion for seeking out creative solutions to complex problems and a proven ability to lead and deliver industry- and academic-driven research projects that have real-world impact. I have always been fascinated by the holistic study of the human body, physical activity, and health behaviour. As such, my Masters, PhD, and postdoctoral research expertise and interests have fostered a unique, interdisciplinary scientific approach that ranges from psychology, emotional well-being, and behaviour, to applied physiology and human performance. I have strong leadership, mentorship, and teaching skills that have been advanced through my work as a research scientist, course instructor, strength and conditioning coach, teaching assistant, and supervisor of many students and researchers. I also possess proficient written and oral communication skills reflected across publications in top-tier health and exercise science journals and numerous conference presentations, invited talks, industry presentations, and media interviews (including features in The New York Times, BBC, The Washington Post, Time, and Sports Illustrated). Further, I have extensive research, work, and volunteer experience across a range of dynamic team settings and an established background in knowledge translation practice across athletic, professional, and academic domains.I also have 15+ years of experience in the disability and physical activity space, and currently lead insights and product testing for lululemon Team Canada apparel, which includes inclusive and adaptive product innovations.
