ABOUT MATTIE JANE HYDE
I am a first-gen, mechanical engineering student at the University of Denver with minors in mathematics and medical physics.On campus, I am the president of Undergraduate Student Government, a board member of the Society of Women Engineers, and a member of the Queer Student alliance.Aside from academic involvements, I am a professional roller figure skater. After earning 5 national titles and competing twice in the World Roller Games, I retired from competition. I’ve had the privilege of being featured on WGN Chicago’s Around Town, the Desplaines Valley News, and Fox’s Empire. I am now a USARS/RSA registered and SafeSport certified coach and enjoy teaching students of all ages/skill levels at the various Skate City locations in Colorado. In my free time, I enjoy rhythm skating around campus, creating art, audio mixing, and spending unreasonably long amounts of time at the gym.
