ABOUT MATTIAS NILSSON

I am an experienced executive leader with over 25 years of managerial experience in the manufacturing and banking industries, primarily in international environments. My career has been marked by a strong focus on change leadership, strategy development, and business leadership close to customers. Throughout my career, I have successfully balanced long-term strategic development with daily decision-making for execution. I achieve results through a high focus on inclusion, clear goal-setting, establishing and empowering diverse teams, strong performance management, and fact-based decisions. I am recognized for being result-driven, customer-oriented, optimistic, analytical, and leading teams in a communicative and inclusive way. My curiosity and eagerness to learn about business, technology, and science have been key drivers in my professional journey. In my current role as Business Area President at Sandvik Manufacturing Solutions, I oversee a portfolio of eight growing and profitable business units offering manufacturing software in CAD, CAM, process simulation, and 3D metrology. Through my 18 years in the manufacturing industry, I held many different roles spanning from business development and sales leadership to production, finance, product management and R&D. I am passionate about leading teams through change and find it rewarding to work in dynamic and challenging environments. Key to success in leadership is to continuously support individual team members in their personal growth and development, while also developing the team as a unit.
