About Matthew Huybrecht

I began my career working at Komatsu, followed by Waukesha Engine. At each location I was both a Design Engineer and Test Engineer, doing basic mechanical design, learning how the products worked, and conducting various tests in the labs. At Waukesha Engine I used Pro/ENGINEER, which opened the door to work at PTC so I could REALLY learn to use Pro/ENGINEER.Versatility is one of my better traits, having honed this skill at PTC as a consultant. I am enthusiastic, motivated, confident, and outgoing. In other words, not a typical engineer. One has to possess these traits in order to be a consultant. I traveled the United States for four years listening to customers\' CAD and visualization needs for everything from pots and pans to Patriot missiles. I then performed their unique implementations and helped train and onboard their user communities. This position lent itself well to my excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position forced me to be a quick learner, to think on-the-fly, and troubleshoot problems. After four years on the road I decided to do my own consulting, cultivating the relationships formed with my customers through PTC. Some customers would only work with me due to my history of delivering on their statements of work. Eventually I had the opportunity to work at Harley-Davidson for a year doing CAD support for their Parts and Accessories user community.I ultimately returned to PTC and have been an instructional designer for 14 years, developing and delivering PTC training curricula in CAD, PLM, and IoT markets. As a top-notch team leader and subject-matter expert, I am the exemplar in my group. Having telecommuted for the past 14 years, I work well with little supervision, meeting deliverable goals and milestones within deadline 100% of the time.I continued to learn quickly, this time in the IoT realm in terms of augmented reality and digital twin usage within industry and how we can create proper training for it.My heart is really in CAD, however, so I returned to that group, this time as the CAD Development Manager and Creo Lead in PTCU.
