About Matthieu Lebreton

Currently an Associate for the Trade practice at McLarty Associates, where I also support clients in Northeast Asia. Recently graduated with an MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS, with a focus on Technology and Innovation in Asia, while working as a geopolitical risk analyst at Political Alpha, a political risk firm based in DC.Prior, I worked as a research assistant for the Japan Chair Programme at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London where I co-edited the Programme\'s second Adelphi book \"Japan and the IISS\". Before joining the Institute’s London office, I interned at the IISS-Americas office in Washington DC and gained experience in research, writing and programme management while interning at CSIS and the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation.I hold a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, where I majored in Regional Studies of Asia with a minor in Japanese. I studied at Waseda University in Tokyo under the Global Leadership Fellows Program (GLFP) for my year abroad.
