About Matthias Kamber
I focus on intellectual property litigation, including patent, copyright, and trademark cases. While I draw on my background in mechanical engineering, most of my cases have involved different or new technologies: smartphone software and hardware, online ad delivery, Internet telephony and unified messaging,(wireless) networking, content-delivery-networks, microprocessor design, and medical devices. I\'ve handled cases throughout the country, including common venues such as California, Delaware, and Texas, as well as before the U.S. International Trade Commission. Recent representative cases are listed below. In addition to patent matters, I\'ve been involved in large-scale antitrust litigation and general commercial litigation, among other things. And I enjoy advising clients regarding licensing and employment issues.Regardless of the type of case or technology, I try not to lose sight of the practicalities. While I enjoy taking cases to trial and relish the teamwork that comes along with it, I\'m perhaps more proud of cases that we\'ve won before trial (on summary judgment or claim construction)-or sometimes even hard-fought settlements where both parties can put litigation behind them and simply go back to business. I\'m also happy to be involved as a committee leader in various professional organizations, including the Federal Circuit Bar Association (FCBA), where I serve on the Board.
