WORK HISTORY
Artist Director @Baschi.Sale
Cologne, DE
In 2009, Zeitkunst‘s many years of hard work culminated in the formation of the Timeart Ensemble. The work of this fixed group of musicians can be described in terms of intermedial performance: Multi-media artists collaborate with musicians playing acoustic and electronic instruments, merging their individual actions on stage to produce a single artistic expression.Timeart has an international line-up. This is nothing out of the ordinary, but it is an integral, conceptual component of this ensemble, which aims to create a cross-cultural artistic language that extends over geographical boundaries. For each concert, international artists come together and present their work in different, cultural settings, but always with the influences of ensemble members from that country.Furthermore, the ensemble develops its own tools for audio analysis and graphic visualisation, implementing a variety of technical tricks and avoiding ready-made software in the process. This aspect of their work further highlights the ensembles authenticity and originality.

ABOUT MATTHIAS MUCHE
Matthias Muche lives in Cologne and works as a trombone player, composer and media artist. He studied Music and Art at the conservatories of Cologne and Amsterdam, as well as at the academy of media arts Cologne. His work with dancers and multimedia artists, as well as with jazz, contemporary, and multicultural music groups is representative of the great variety and flexibility of his artistic work. His activities also include master classes all over the world. He is Artistic Director of Zeitkunst e.V./Timeart Ensemble where he received numerous of cultural honorees. In his projects he experiments with symbiotic, intertwined auditory and visual compositional processes, and concepts presentation formats which motivate, intensify and feedback one another.[.] Muche is in the tradition of Paul Rutherford and Johannes Bauer, with an organic trombone style, zigzagging between eruptive cries and tender exhalations, able to switch direction at will[.] by Martin Schray [.] Muche is more akin to Beat poets Gregory Corso and Allen Ginsberg.to stretch the trombone language as much as the Beats did so with English language imagery[.] by Ken Waxman [.]
