Supervise the Production Operations staff, production scheduling and oversee all work that occurs in control rooms, studios and field operations for both live and pre-production environments. • Directly supervise the Production Operations staff and all work that occurs in production control rooms and studios, including scheduling of personnel and all production resources for day-to-day delivery of UNC-TV programming initiatives.• Make scheduling adjustments as needed per operational guidelines to meet requirements while staying within budget limits. Manage staffing for full-time, part-time, freelance, contractors and overtime hours.• Maintain a complete operational understanding of all control room and studio job functions, processes, procedures and workflows; maintain and utilize in-depth technical knowledge of all production control room and studio systems. Use this knowledge to address and/or communicate issues and manage staff performance.• Set performance goals and standards that align with corporate expectations; conduct scheduled performance reviews holding staff accountable for their performance. Coordinate with HR liaison to address hiring, promotions and performance issues in a timely manner.• Develop and coordinate training opportunities for Production Operations staff and participate in department planning for the improvement of technical centers and growth for personnel.• Demonstrate a variety of writing skills from technical drafts and mass communication to succinct summary emails for upper management. Coordinate all technical and personnel resources for production control room and studios, including management of specific equipment, supplies and expendables inventory.• Coordinate with Engineering department to ensure that all control room and studio equipment is functioning properly.• Act as a liaison between the Television Production/Operations teams and Engineering department, show producers and other Editorial teams.
