About Matthew Koopmann

My name is Matthew Koopmann, and I graduated from the Electrical & Computer Engineering program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2015. Specializing my studies in power generation, transmission, and distribution, I have always had a passion for energy and technology. After finishing my degree, I felt that the best use of my natural talents would be in a position that fused business and engineering, which ultimately led me to pursuing a career as a sales engineer. Having experience in engineering, sales, and customer service allowed me to find success in the consultative direct sales model that Keyence Corporation of America employs. During my time as a sales engineer, I worked with two high accuracy, non contact metrology devices that aim to solve critical quality control and research and development applications - a structured white light scanner and a laser confocal microscope. In June 2018 I transitioned out of sales and into a strategic marketing analyst position where I worked alongside the National Sales Director to make critical business development decisions. The position is centered around analyzing sales data to develop and implement strategies to grow sales within the laser microscope product line as well as determine key areas of the business to be further optimized for maximizing results.
