ABOUT MATTHEW SWENSON

I’ve held barista to leadership and board member roles within the coffee industry, and over the course of my career I\'ve gained a profound understanding and perspective on the global business and value chain of coffee. As a former sourcing director, I champion the soil-to-sip experience, emphasizing the symbiotic relationships between farmers, roasters, and baristas. As a sustainability leader, I’ve partnered with coffee communities around the globe to create and fund projects to execute mutually beneficial projects, as well as drive reduction goals domestically with packaging and carbon impact. As a leader with a strong focus on people development, I’ve been dedicated to developing and mentoring new coffee leaders, by fueling their curiosity and passion for the coffee industry through educational programs I\'ve developed. My career highlights include: Serving as Director of Coffee at the world’s largest coffee company (Nestle), leading the largest organic cold brew brand in the U.S.(Chameleon Cold-Brew), serving on the board of trustees for the Coffee Quality Institute. In addition to being a speaker a global trade events, I’ve been featured or quoted in prominent publications such as Business Insider, Wall Street Journal, Playboy, Roast Magazine, and more, where I shared leading insights into the dynamic and ever evolving world of coffee.
