About Matthew McCullough

My career began in the service-centric hospitality environment of Orlando, FL, where I worked for organizations such as Disney while completing High School. Throughout my college years I enjoyed working full-time at Sea World as an animal trainer and was promoted three times to a managerial role by the age of 23. My personal drive for overcoming challenges led me to pursue my dream of becoming a US Navy pilot. I’ve spent the last 19+ years as a Navy pilot in positions of progressively increased responsibility as a plane commander, mission commander, instructor pilot and as support to an Admiral and his executive staff leading an organization of 8K+, Officer in Charge, Executive Officer and Commanding Officer. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to utilize and further polish my leadership, critical thinking, decision making, and communication skills to drive teams to surpass organizational objectives. I have been the recipient of multiple distinguished awards during my naval career, including Navy Patrol & Reconnaissance Pilot of the Year, 2009; out of 2K+ Navy Aviators; Combat Aircrew of the Year, 2008; Jacksonville Business Journal\'s Top 40 Under 40, 2013; and Military Transitioning News Top 40 Under 40, 2013.Simultaneous to my career, I earned an MBA in 2012. I continuously remain active in my community through volunteer service and sports, and have often led teams throughout college and in the Navy and Armed Forces.
