ABOUT MATTHEW BUTCHER

I believe passionately in the power of quality and data integrity and how focus in these areas naturally and easily yields benefits to both reporting and analysis and therefore leads directly to real business improvement. I genuinely enjoy working collaboratively with others in analytics, data governance, control and data cleansing, always looking for opportunities to mistake proof as much as possible.Over a career of 20 years in the area of Information Technology I have become extremely good at identifying areas for improvement without prompting from both large and complex data sets. It has always been important to me to be as proactive as possible in my approach to work so that I can delight \'customers\'. The natural lead on from this approach is that my skills and talents are sought out for new pieces of work. My output is valued and trusted as I always take great pride in whatever I produce. I am a great believer in common sense and how this approach supports improvements and am very experienced in isolating root causes. I also enjoy telling the story of data in my analysis work. I am adept at manipulating views for easy consumption whilst also delivering those results verbally in face-to-face or remote meetings. A lead on from data visualisations has been developing excellent skills with dashboards for multiple functional areas using either Excel or Power BI.In my own time I enjoy researching my own family tree and have researched and produced 3 other family histories for friends. I enjoy Motorsport, particularly Formula 1, the British Touring Car Championship and the World Endurance Championship. I relish the opportunity to take photos at these events and this desire to take a great image always forms a great part of the joy I find in bird watching.
