ABOUT MATTHEW SOMERS
IT qualifications in CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Cloud+ and AWS Cloud Practitioner. With 10+ years of experience in financial roles, I decided for a career change and am grateful for Acora giving me the opportunity to work on my my interests and passions, which is working with different technologies, computer systems and networks. Before I decided to change careers, here is a little about my working profession and some of my best achievements to date: • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both customers and fellow colleagues. One thing my fellow colleagues have commented on numerous times is I’m an individual that can be trusted, and this has been reflected back by customers. • Meeting strict deadlines and exceeding monthly and annual targets year after year. As cash flow is vital to any business, this always needed to be collected in a timely manner and allocated/reconciled quickly so funds could be used. • Maintained a positive attitude and being proactive, meant that I am an individual that can be relied upon. I could be approached to have a conversation with because as a critical thinker I could give a different perspective on things. • Delivering results is a key part to my success for staying with companies for long periods of time. As a quick thinker I have always been able to demonstrate why things should be done certain ways. I have always found ways to simplify things that makes the most sense and have passed these methods down to work colleagues. Whilst I have been working, I always learn new skills and improve upon the ones I already possess. Reading books is a habit of mine and helps with my personal development. Recently, I saw a new course released by the Open University to help understand racism, decided to take part, and now hold a certificate for the course titled “Union Black: Britain’s Black Cultures And Steps To Anti-Racism”. To further my studies, I am looking to learn the computer programming language ‘Python’ and excited to see how this can help myself in future work and have a better understanding of how systems function. Since working for Acora I have learnt so much and forver learning new things. Let\'s connect if you believe that our relationship can be beneficial!
