About Matthew Duran

Currently, I am an Engineering Project Manager II at Huffman Engineering. Previously, I was a Program Manager II at Pacific Scientific. I managed all proposal efforts for their assigned government and non-government customers with emphasis on leading major proposals and development proposals (C&D) for 15-30 programs, coordinated integrated product team and departmental efforts in the preparation of proposal responses to customer RFQs.Prepared and or supported preparation of management and cost volumes of proposals for future programs.Before moving into the PM role, I was a Design Engineer II within Pacific Scientific (Fortive). While in this role, I owned 7-10 projects and programs within the Pac Sci suite of products with the use of Solidworks for CAD, DOE, FMEA, and Failure Analysis.Previously, I was the Lead Engineer for Mark Goodwin & Associates. I managed projects from start to finish in the civil engineering scope. With the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D, AHYMO software, Hydraflow, and Autodesk Storm Analysis software, projects were managed from the beginning of the design to completion of the project. As the President and founder of the Rudi Foundation, I organize and manage the board of directors of the nonprofit group. We host one annual 5K and Kids K to raise funds for the New Mexico Cancer Center. My personal ties to the organization stem from my great friendship with the Rudi Foundation’s namesake. My very good friend and fraternity brother, Kevin Rudi, passed away from Spindle Cell Sarcoma Cancer, and the foundation was started to honor his life, and has a mission to help end cancer. As mentioned, I am also the President of the Prospanica-New Mexico Board of Directors. We host organized local networking and professional development events that have sharpened my event planning skills, as well as benefited my network. Along with local events, as Board Members, we are privileged to have the opportunity to meet other Prospanica members. Previously, I was a Design Manufacturing Engineer at Thomas & Betts, a Project Controls Engineer at Sandia National Laboratories, a Graduate Student Engineer at Intel Corporation, and an M.S. researcher for the University of New Mexico. I graduated from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, N.M. with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I worked in the Robotics Laboratory as a Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineer.
