About Matthew D. Milazzo

Matthew Milazzo has over 25 years of experience in a variety of roles performing program management, economic and engineering analysis, technical advising and consulting, strategic planning, business development, and process improvement for industrial, governmental, and academic organizations. Mr. Milazzo is currently the leader of the Planning & Operations Division in Battelle\'s National Security Business Unit. With a staff of approximately 100 scientists, engineers, and technical experts who focus on the enhancement of readiness and national security via operations, training, and material support for DOD and government customers, Mr. Milazzo is responsible for P&L: driving growth objectives, contributing to the development and execution of business line strategies and plans, and leading the Division to meet operational and financial goals.Prior to joining Battelle, Mr. Milazzo was a Government Programs Development Manager for the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University where he worked to develop opportunities and deliver solutions to some of our nation\'s most pressing problems in the areas of software engineering, AI/ML, and cybersecurity. He has also held sales roles at GE Digital and GE Power Conversion where he managed key DOD relationships and developed strategic sales opportunities with a focus on electric propulsion systems, predictive analytics, condition-based maintenance (CBM+), and asset management and optimization technology enablers.In a variety of functions ranging from technical to advisory, Mr. Milazzo has also served as: Deputy Director of the Blue Ribbon Commission on America\'s Nuclear Future, Senior Policy Advisor in the Offices of Senator George Voinovich (R-OH) and Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), a Senior Nuclear Non-Proliferation Engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and a Business Management Consultant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers.Mr. Milazzo was named the American Nuclear Society’s Glenn T. Seaborg Congressional Fellow in 2009 and served as the Chairman of the Edison Welding Institute (EWI) Nuclear Fabrication Consortium from 20••••12.He holds degrees in bioengineering (BS) and economics (BS) from the University of Pittsburgh, and public policy and management (MA), and nuclear engineering (MS) from Ohio State University. Mr. Milazzo served six years in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear machinist onboard the U.S.S. South Carolina (CGN-37).
