ABOUT MATTHEW BARRACLOUGH
BBC journalist since 1995 and still based in the North East of England where I first began work as a radio reporter. In the intervening years, I have worked in a number of different roles in journalism, broadcasting, change management, outreach and media literacy. In 2015 I led the BBC side of the Local News Partnership and helped create the Local Democracy Reporting Service, News Hub and Shared Data Unit. In 2023 I was the editorial lead for a significant restructure of local services across England which has transformed our ability to create and distribute online news. Currently, work with the leadership team in England to deliver on our ambitions for the audience.(I generally only Link In with people I know, whose work I have directly experienced)
