TMS is the latest unique non-medication treatment intervention for Depression. TMS therapy uses precisely targeted magnetic pulses that stimulate key areas of the brain, which are under-active in patients with Depression. Treatment is delivered right in the doctor’s office. Patients are awake during treatment, and can go about their normal activities immediately after treatment is completed.Some advantages of TMS include-FDA-cleared and proven-Not medication-based-Non-sedating-Non-invasive-Safe-Well tolerated (fewer than 5% of patients discontinue treatment due to adverse effects)-Covered by all major insurance providers-In-office treatments take about 25 minutes, and are administered 5 days/week, for approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
