ABOUT MATTHEW AYLOTT
Senior policy advisor with nearly 20 years’ experience advancing energy and climate policy across government, industry, and academia. As Electrification of Heat Strategy Lead at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, I lead the development and delivery of policies to accelerate the UK’s transition to low carbon energy systems.Prior to joining the Civil Service, I advised on consumer-focused energy policy at Which? and led engagement between researchers and policymakers at the UK Energy Research Centre. I hold a PhD from the University of Southampton, where my research explored the impacts of climate change on forest growth, and I’m a Policy Fellow at the University of Cambridge Centre for Science and Policy.I’m driven by a commitment to decarbonisation and passion for evidence-led policymaking.
