As Director of Policy and Government Affairs at the Council for Quality Growth, I lead a team of industry experts and policy specialists to advance the mission of our organization, the catalyst for balancing growth issues and responsible development in our region. In this role, I am tasked with formulating, developing, and communicating positions related to infrastructure planning, legislative initiatives, regulatory issues, land use, transportation, and environmental planning policies while building and strengthening relationships with elected officials, citizen advisory groups, policy makers, and other industry, business, and environmental organizations!The Council for Quality Growth was founded in 1985, originally just for Gwinnett and later for the whole metro region, as a trade association advocating for the growth and development industry. Today, we serve as the convener of the development community and policy makers to focus on long-range community planning, to encourage a priority on government services around transportation, water, and economic development, and to advocate for a sensible and efficient regulatory environment. With over 300 member companies, we work with hundreds of city, county, and state elected officials to promote thriving communities, which we do through extensive research efforts and countless educational programs and events each year. I have a fantastic policy team and work under the leadership of our President and CEO Michael Paris to advocate here among our 11 counties, 76 municipalities, and State Legislature.
