ABOUT MATTHEW WRIGHT

Currently working for Williams as a composite technician on the race team rotation. I’ve worked at Alpine F1 team for 11 years, starting as an apprentice with Lotus as a model maker, then moving into composites. Ive worked on all kinds of projects, depending on what time of the season it is. Car build I worked on the chassis, during the season it’s high priority projects such as updates and new assembly’s. I then moved into the role of Composite race support team in early 2021 to prepare myself for race team when the opportunity became available. I used to be the only composite on RST which means I dealt a lot with life milage, servicing, build sheet, stickers and planning on top of the composite work itself. I work well under pressure, focused and able to achieve deadlines which can seem unlikely. I’ve always had a passion for F1 and bring my very best each day, learning quickly and adapting as best I can. I never have an issue working in a team regardless of size, I get on with all kinds of people but can also work on my own competently which I’ve shown the past year.
