ABOUT MATTHEW WEST
Junior Honors Finance student at Penn State University pursuing a career in capital markets investment management. Developing my leadership and interpersonal teamwork skills within the Sapphire Academic Leadership Program, an accelerated leadership initiative within the Smeal College of Business. Passion for increasing my knowledge and skills in a wide range of investing topics, including broad financial products (equity, fixed income, derivatives, alternative), algorithmic trading strategies, research techniques, economic-based behaviors, technology-based analytic models, and effective recommendation reporting. Completed SIE certification and am now enrolled in the CFA program, with my CFA Level I exam scheduled for November 2024. My goal is to become an influential leader in the finance and investment sector, pursuing continuous learning and collaborative efforts with others. Beyond academics and club activities, I enjoy online competitive chess and video gaming, outdoor sports, and playing an increasing portfolio of piano compositions.
