ABOUT MATTHEW WALLACE
I am a dedicated servant leader focused on providing the best outcomes for my team and our patients. I love helping others switch on light bulbs – facilitating those ‘dim to bright\' moments that change mindsets and open up new possibilities. My passion is helping people, teams and organizations figure out where they are, where they want to be, and then helping them get there. I have had a long-term focus on health and healthcare with both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Healthcare Administration and have dedicated my career to the field. I have over 20+ years in the healthcare industry in a variety of roles including administration, operations, project management, consulting, and sales. Some notes on experience:Prior to working for Grant Thornton, I worked as a healthcare consultant at Navigant Consulting\'s Physician Enterprise Solutions group (both detailed in the job profile section). During my time at Saint Thomas Heart (Nashville, TN) I was responsible for the diagnostic operations of more than 60 physicians at eight locations. Line and staff team totaled 200+ FTEs and managed an operating budget of 50M+. Of note, I lead the transition of five diagnostic departments from physician group management to hospital ownership and management. Before working at Saint Thomas Heart, I worked for Vanderbilt Medical Group for both the chief medical officer and chief operating officer as a senior project manager. I analyzed and helped improve the flow of the cardiology practices, designed a project tracking tool to help onboard all new physician acquisitions and served as the chief liaison to external consultants on large projects to analyze and streamline clinical operations. Spent time with a multi-hospital system in Birmingham, Alabama in the planning and development office, worked in the coding department of a children’s hospital, and was an auditor for HCA’s internal audit division.
