About Matthew Walensky
My name is Matthew Walensky, and I am a graduate of USC\'s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and the School of Cinematic Arts. I am eager to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of the film/TV development and production process.I am fascinated by the power of cinema to shape our culture and bring history and fantasy to life. I dream of becoming a television director or producer who can catalyze deep thinking and inspire social change. The film that first sparked my career interest was the classic movie ‘Twelve Angry Men’ (1957). Sequestered in a claustrophobic room, a jury of twelve men must decide the fate of a man accused of murder. All but one juror are convinced that the accused is guilty, yet one-by-one the lone juror converts each of the remaining 11 men to vote Not Guilty. The power of reason and the influence of one man’s voice prevails. I am inspired by the potential to be that person who can bring a new perspective to a viewer, whether through film, television, or broadcast journalism.
