ABOUT MATTHEW TROUT
I am currently serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Holistic Defense Services Team at the Missouri State Public Defender, where I work with a dedicated group of advocates fighting back against poverty. As an AmeriCorps VISTA, I focus on program capacity building, resource mapping, and community partner engagement. Last May, I graduated from Westminster College where I received a B.A. in Political Science, Security Studies, and Philosophy & Religious Studies. I also recently recieved a Graduate Certificate in Defense and Strategic Studies at Missouri State University. My research interests have primarily been focused on national security, presidential power, emerging technology, and civil liberties. This fall, I will be pursuing my J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law.
