Chair qualification review committee for MET qualifications.• Engage with the industry to lead gap analysis reviews to update and maintain the relevance of SQA awards related to maritime education and training.• Review, develop and produce group award specifications for HN Marine Engineering, HN Shipbuilding and NC Shipping and Maritime Operations• Write and review unit specifications for units leading to maritime qualifications.• Provide prior verification consultation services for maritime qualifications and assessment methods.• Visit awarding centres in the UK to objectively verify a centre’s compliance versus SQA’s Operating Agreement.• Moderate student work across maritime vocational and academic education and training.• Externally verify centre competency assessment and ensure national qualification consistency of assessment.• Make recommendations on the level of risk the centre represents to the SQA.• Coach and Mentor new external verifiers across a range of disciplines and levels.
