I was brought into this program after returning to school in order to be in compliance with requisites to challenge the state for an electrical license. It was noted that I was not in the correct place as a student but was a subject matter expert and that I had a hand in designing and building x3 of the buildings at the main campus. I was offered a position and due to versatility and expertise I have been directed to teach the HVAC program, and the Electrical and Construction Management. I find this job to be very rewarding, and I like to freelance a bit in order to have my students work with potential employers in the classroom. I enjoy seeing young men and women coming from nothing into the trades and stabilizing their lives as young adults with companies with fantastic cultures and leadership. Seeing the lightbulb turn on in their heads with their course of expertise and implanting a solid mentorship and networking experience is what I wish I had when I was coming up in the trades as a kid. Getting them on track with life where others are failing is the icing on the cake. This program is enough to set them up in the correct direction and mindset so they can excel in life. I wish so many more would join this program.
