A story teller and collaborative manager with experience building and mentoring teams to achieve high performance outcomes. Matthew is a Director, Coach and Learning Facilitator having worked in elite sport and with some of the world’s largest entertainment producers.Matthew is Cirque du Soleil’s Manager of Coaching Services. His Design, Choreography and Directorial credits include the multiple Cirque du Soleil shows, the opening ceremony for SuperBowl XLI, the Royal Variety Show for Queen Elizabeth II, Special Events at Walt Disney World, the Monte Carlo Circus Festival, Cirque du Soleil’s Choreographer’s Showcase, and live performance events around the globe.A sought-after public speaker, Matthew has presented for the Premiere League, Red Bull, the International Gymnastics Federation, Leaders in Sport, New Zealand’s High-Performance Leaders Forum, the United States Center for Coaching Excellence, the International Center for Coaching Excellence, United States Gymnastics National Conference, Canada’s Own the Podium SPIN Summit (Sports Performance Innovation), the Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP), the World Rugby Federation, and Fortune 500 companies.Matthew is active in adult education and development. He became a Certified Coach in 1987 and graduated from Seneca College in 1991 with a Diploma in Advanced Coaching Theory. He is a Level 4 Coach (the Highest Level Available) in Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program and was a Brevet Judge with the International Gymnastics Federation. He holds advanced Certifications with the National Academy of Sports Medicine.Matthew was previously Head Coach and Program Director of Canada’s largest Gymnastics Facility, where he was responsible for program design, budgeting and staff management. He accomplished the rare feat of coaching both men and women onto the National Team. As National Team Coach he traveled to competitions throughout Asia, Europe and North America and Coached National Champions, Finalists at World and Olympic Games and International Medalists.
