ABOUT MATTHEW SNOWDON
I’m a Software Development Engineer in Test working on complex transport ticketing systems across Linux and Windows environments. My work focuses on functional and automated testing of embedded revenue collection devices, payment logic, and device-to-backend workflows. I have hands-on experience with requirements-based test design, exploratory testing, defect investigation, and log-based debugging, and I regularly work across Linux VM test rigs, embedded hardware, and backend systems. I contribute to automated test suites written in C++/GTest, raise detailed Jira defects with strong reproduction context, and collaborate closely with developers and systems engineers in Agile/Scrum teams. I’m particularly interested in growing automation ownership - extending test frameworks, improving coverage and reliability, and integrating automated testing more deeply into CI/CD pipelines. I value clear communication, pragmatic testing strategies, and building trust between QA and engineering teams. Currently working in a remote-first SDET role and open to opportunities where I can continue developing as a test automation engineer within high-reliability systems.
