Daily management of a portfolio of captive insurance companies and risk retention groups. I support these entities\' roles in their parent insureds unique risk management environment by ensuring smooth operation of the entities from the aspects of financial reporting, operations, compliance, and corporate governance. I act primarily as controller or director of finance, however, my duties also include many operational items as well. I manage teams of staff internally, as well as multiple third party administrators and report directly to the boards of directors and owners for each of my clients. I liaise with the State of Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance on behalf of my clients and the firm, as well as various financial institutions, accountants, actuaries and other service providers as needed. Internally, I report to regional management and directors, also advising on operational, compliance, IT related initiatives, and attending captive association conferences in the region. Working in tandem with our advisory group, I have been able to help grow my clients\' captives to improve their risk profile, and also assist in the creation and evolution of new captive strategies to offer my clients.
