About Matthew Sharp

I\'m an undergraduate at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. I\'m pursuing a Bachelor\'s degree and my major is Computer Science. I am also an international student from South Africa! I am interested in full-stack development and Machine Learning.I previously completed a software engineering internship with the Data Collection and Correlation team at Spectrum, where I worked with a mentor on the development of RamRod, an innovative troubleshooting and problem-solving application utilized by engineers to streamline data analysis and debugging processes, resulting in substantial time savings. I then transitioned to a software engineering Co/Op role for the Fall of 2023. I continued to learn under a mentor and was given the opportunity to contribute to the development of Scope, a company wide platform that used telemetry data to provide support to technicians to ensure efficient delivery of service.I also used to work on campus as a Residential Assistant. I am very passionate about working with people and building relationships with them. This job has given me the opportunity to explore this passion and through it, I have been able to develop my people skills. I have seen the importance of empathy, good communication, and leadership. These are values I hold in high regard.Outside of Computer Science, I really enjoy reading, walking, listening to music and podcasts, and most board games but especially chess. I also really enjoy working out and going to the gym.
