ABOUT MATTHEW RUBIN

With nearly two decades of experience in the structural steel industry, I have developed a strong foundation in welding, quality assurance, and safety management. Starting as a field operations helper in 2006, I quickly transitioned into fabrication, mastering welding techniques and developing expertise in working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Over the years, I have honed my skills across multiple welding processes, including GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW, while also becoming proficient with CNC machinery and advanced fabrication techniques.Driven by a commitment to continuous improvement, I pursued and earned my AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification in 2020 and AWS Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS) certification in 2022. These credentials have allowed me to enhance quality control processes, develop comprehensive welding programs, and ensure compliance with AWS and AISC standards. I have also taken the initiative to create and implement Quality Control Manuals, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification Records (WPQR), leading to significant advancements in operational efficiency.As a QA/QC and Safety Supervisor, I oversee welding operations, safety compliance, and quality assurance initiatives. I work closely with teams to optimize workflows, improve training programs, and maintain a strong culture of safety and excellence. My experience in developing and refining welding programs has positioned me as a leader in driving process improvements and ensuring high-quality standards in structural and miscellaneous metal fabrication.I am always open to networking, knowledge sharing, and exploring opportunities that align with my passion for welding, quality management, and industry advancement.
