Experience
VP, Head of Early Clinical Development - Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolic
May 2022 — Present
I am responsible for guiding the early clinical development strategy, designing early clinical studies, ensuring scientific leadership in all aspects early clinical development, and pursuing excellence in the operational execution of the Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolic (CVRM) early clinical programs. I lead a cross functional team of physicians, clinical scientists, clinical program directors, and clinical innovation leaders who collectively translate novel scientific findings to proof of concept studies in target populations across all therapeutic modalities in our portfolio. These teams are responsible for initiating, designing, and executing explorative clinical studies to support target validation, novel biomarker development, and surrogate endpoint qualification and certification as well as innovative early-phase clinical trials. We partner with Bioscience, Translational Science and Experimental Medicine, late CVRM clinical development, and other departments to align our disease area focus, characterize and phenotype patient populations of interest, and define unmet clinical needs that can be addressed by compounds in our portfolio.
