About Matthew Pope

Having witnessed many of life\'s hardships over the course of my life (and experiencing some of them myself firsthand), I strive to improve systems and help as many people as I can through my work and volunteer activities. As a business analyst, I do this by thoughtfully constructing / enhancing new tools, systems, and processes for those that serve patients in need. I\'ve created new CRM environments for Patient Assistance Programs, onboarded and improved upon legacy pharmacy applications, and created / managed many batch interfaces, APIs, portals, etc. My work as a business analyst has simplified many processes patients face in obtaining care and access to therapy, and I\'m proud of the work the team around me has accomplished over the years. In addition to my work as a business analyst, I am also an educator that focuses heavily on creating safe spaces for students to explore new topics, learn, and simply be themselves. I try to bridge local and global issues together whenever possible and make topics personal for my students. My students would tell you that I want them to learn integrity, confidence, organization skills, and technology (both old and new). While I\'ve taught pretty much at all levels throughout elementary and secondary education, I currently teach pre-k & high school courses. Beyond what\'s mentioned above, I do a variety of other jobs via short-term contracts and consulting. I grew up on a farm and love talking to people about agriculture. I volunteer for groups like the ELCA, RESULTS, and the United Nations Foundation. I love to travel, meet new people, and spend time with my family. My family is my priority, and we try to include each other in as many as activities as possible that one another are doing. As such, it\'s not uncommon to see me bringing my kiddos along for advocacy meetings with legislators or doing other volunteer activities as a family. My advocacy work focuses heavily on health, education, and economic opportunity. I still dabble in other topics though too: historical preservation, justice endeavors, etc.
