ABOUT MATTHEW PLUTSCHACK

I have filled various scientific and management roles, focusing on chemical R&D as well as organizational innovation management. My technical expertise includes several sub-fields related to organic as well as enabling technologies like flow chemistry and automation. I have successfully led multiple projects at two separate Max-Planck-Institutes, working independently in addition to providing methodical, strategic insights as part of a team. I have extensive experience in scientific communication and third-party funding acquisition. As Head of Strategy at the Center for the Transformation of Chemistry (CTC), I worked closely with scientists at the interface of AI, automation and chemistry only to repeatedly hear about the frustration due to increasing administrative burdens. In addition, by my analysis of the day-to-day workflows of a typical researcher, I found a positive correlation with experience and time spent on scientific administration. Inspired by my work with the CTC drafting organizational strategies for promoting entrepreneurship, I decided to start my own company to address researchers’ key pain points, both bureaucratic as well as scientific.
